PRIZES
Prizes will be given in two categories: written (essay, poem, short story) and visual (painting, collage, photography and graphic).
- Grand Prize: $1000 + certificate
- First Place: $300 for best written entry, $300 for best visual entry
- Second Place: $150 each category
- Jurors’ award Visual entries and portions of written entries will be in our 2012 - 2013 newsletters
Winning entries are published on our website. Because of our careful ”refereed” judging process, having an entry published on the What About Peace ? website is equivalent to journal publication.
Sponsor/Teacher of Grand Prize Winner and each First Prize Winner: $100 each.
Each Juror’s Award will honor an entrant whose response to the question What About Peace ? was particularly moving or compelling. Jurors will consider entries in all categories.
Name, age and state of residence, of those receiving Juror’s Awards will be posted on our website. Awardees will receive a certificate and a small gift. Jurors' Award visual entries and portions of written entries will be in our 2011-2012 newsletters and on our facebook page.
